Life can be pretty unexpected. If three years ago you would've told me I'd be attending AND witnessing the runway shows of some of the biggest names in fashion, as part of New York Fashion Week, I would not have believed you. This is why my experience at this year's NYFW SS17 was completely and utmost surreal.
To me, the world of fashion is (and forever will be) somewhat of a fantasy. The big names, the personalities, the majestic designs, the outpour of creativity, the inventive, the passion, and the absolute sentiment behind every piece... It is all so remarkable. Maybe because I come from such a small place, where big city experiences like these are only seen in movies and lavish episodes of Sex and the City or maybe because I wasn't expecting to be a part of this at all and suddenly I find myself in rooms and events filled with the most unique and one of a kind individuals, all driven by the same desire to create and the love for fashion. But alas, I don't want to stray too far from the topic.
As such, I've put together the following compilation of photographs, covering both blogger events and my favorite runway looks, in order to give you a better feel in regards to my mindblowing experience at New York Fashion Week SS17. Hope you enjoy it!

3:00PM - The Gallery at Skylight Clarkson Square
Who would've thought I'd be initiating NYFY with Marissa Webb's SS17 runway show. Still asking for someone to pinch me. With a casual elegant feel, Webb's pieces took over the runway, making a bold and ruffled statement. When it comes to clothing, white and green is by far one of my favorite color palettes, especially when the whites are crisp and the greens are... Olive.
I couldn't hide my big geeky smile at this one. Knowing Webb's story and how she came to be in the industry, I can only say it was a true honor to be a part of her SS17 runway show.
Fashion Palette, Australian RTW SS17
Since its establishment in 2009, Fashion Palette has served as a dedicated fashion agency, helping Australian fashion designers expand their businesses via annual runway platforms. It is important to note that this is Fashion Palette's fifth season at NYFW and they've rapidly become a high-end, all-inclusive trusted international springboard, focused on establishing innovative independent Australian labels into the US market. Below are a few captures of my favorite looks at the Australian RTW SS17 runway show.
Australian evening and bridal fashion house, Con Ilio, left us all in awe. The detail and intricacy surrounding Con Ilio's opulent confections were truly impressive.
Florals, embroideries, and crystal embellishments filled the runway show for Cristahlea, with a number of feminine contemporary looks which left us all swooning over the Australian designers.
The looks from Milanja's SS17 collection were all very delicate and form fitting. This one, in particular, caught my attention due to its 90's nostalgia feel, with a subtle vintage flair.
Intimates, sleepwear, and a number of delicate dresses. Homebodii's elegant and ultra feminine pieces blurred the lines between flirty and sensual.
Bold feminine looks and statement-making outfits. Sui Generis brought a unique style to the FPNFW runway show.
Timeless geometrical pieces, sleek contours and bold silhouettes, tied together by modern simplicity. I could definitely see myself wearing Stephanie Chehade's looks on a daily basis.

Lulus Style Studio
6:00PM - 404 10th Avenue
As you can see, Thursday was an action packed day! Thankfully, I took it easy on Friday as I only had two events at night, starting with the Lulus Style Studio. This Fashion Week influencer event, brought to you by Lulus (obvs!), was a blogger's dream come true. The location was spacious, dim lights and a cocktail lounge atmosphere, and all you can think beauty products. Brands like NYX, Amika, theBalm, Black Swan, Woodzee, and Sigma (among many others) had their little stations where you could stop by and explore their products! I also snagged two clothing pieces at the fashion lounge and continued to party.
These type of events are always a treat, as you get to mingle with old friends in the blogosphere and interact with new ones while enjoying a few of your favorite things. Also, it is a great way to try out new products and even snag a few you might absolutely fall in love with! As for myself, I can't have enough of Amika's dry shampoo - it's been heaven on earth since I got the free sample at this event and I'm almost out, so will be buying it very, very soon!
The VNYL Opening
10:00PM - 100 3rd Ave
Right after Lulus I had to rush home to change and meet with my friends to attend the opening of The VNYL. I don't know about you, but running around for Fashion Week really made me miss certain moments where I could just throw something on and meet with my friends at some random bar to just chill. Well, The VNYL was no random bar but it was a nice breather to be with my boyfriend and my gal pals, celebrating the opening of one of our friends' bar-restaurant and just chillin'.

10:00AM - The Gallery at Skylight Clarkson Square
With about 3 hours of sleep, I woke up to get ready for Dan Liu's SS17 show. Yolo. The cool thing about this runway was how it transported the audience to a Parisian cafe, with the music, the cafe table prop, and of course, the Parisian-inspired cocktail dresses. The detail on these was evident, the play with color and shapes was astounding as well! Really glad I was able to make it!
11:30AM - The Glass Houses
Right after Dan Liu's dream of a runway, I headed with a couple of friends to the ShopStyle Social House, for another Fashion Week influencer party. Can't stop, won't stop. This one was a bit different as the location was much smaller and the event was split between two floors at The Glass Houses. I experienced a bit of running around while trying to meet people and mingle from one floor to the other, and taking into account I'd barely slept the night before, you can take I was pretty exhausted. Nevertheless, I received a full makeup refresh from Le Métier de Beauté and was gifted a personalized GiGi New York bag, which I've been wearing non-stop.
It's always a blast spending time with my fellow blogger babes. I guess my favorite part about blogger parties is that it is a great way for you to meet and catch up on everyone's most recent endeavors!
3:00PM - Lori Bookstein Fine Art Gallery
Before calling it a day, I stopped by Fresh Step's Hot to Adopt event in support of Fresh Step's campaign to encourage cat adoptions and remove the stigma of the crazy cat lady. Because it's always on trend to adopt, Fresh Step wants people to wear their love of cats by celebrating modern cat ladies (and gents) and by declaring "Feline Fashion Fridays" through the month of October to showcase unique feline-inspired looks. Cat owners can show their love of cats by posting a picture of themselves with their cat to Fresh Step's Instagram using #freshstepcontest each Friday, for a chance to win free Fresh Step litter, a $250 VISA Gift Card, and the limited edition #hot2adopt T-shirt. Watcha waiting for?

LIKEtoKNOW.it x Milk Makeup
6:00PM - Milk Penthouse
Oh Monday, my last day of NYFW SS17! I decided to take a break and do absolutely nothing on Sunday, as I was exhausted beyond words, but Monday was a different story! I headed over to my last Fashion Week influencer part, hosted by LiketoKnow.it and Milk Makeup, and chilled the night away. Got a sweet makeover, enjoyed a few drinks, chatted with a number of old and new friends, and made my way to my last Fashion week runway show!
8:00PM - Skylight at Moynihan Station, The Dock
Alas, the marvelous creations of Aniessa Hasibuan. I can't even begin to explain how honored I felt to be a part of this and to be closing my NYFW experiences with such a mesmerizing show. As I said on my Instagram, the return of Aniessa to NYFW was far from ordinary. The intricacy surrounding her evening wear pieces was outstanding, so much admiration towards her designs. PopSugar Fashion released a video on Aniessa's show and I shared a link to it below as it is a must watch; a briefing on her accomplishments as a designer and a more in-depth look on how she blends modern and more conservative fashion.
